i013 Dave Crenshaw – From Entrepreneurial Chaos To Focused Progress

Off the Charts Dave Crenshaw Interview

In this episode of the Off The Charts business podcast, we’re tackling a topic that many entrepreneurs deal with: chaos and overwhelm.

Dave Crenshaw had to let go of his personal chaos, and the business chaos. The person chaos was obvious in how he was operating in his career. He asked for help from a psychologist, after his wife announced that she was pregnant. Before he found out that she was pregnant, Dave had been experimenting with different career paths…

He felt disorganized and disheveled all the time, which is why he reached out to a psychologist. After filling out a few tests with the psychologist, Dave found out that he was “off the charts” ADHD.

At that moment, Dave got the clarity that had been missing from his life before.

He realized that systems were the solution.

What Dave had observed over the years, was that most of the trainings about productivity out there are not designed for creative / ADHD / “unorganized” people or entrepreneurs as a group.

That’s when he put together the time management program that is now available on Lynda.com – the Time Management Fundamentals is one of their most popular courses.

The business chaos was also something that he had to let go of, starting by getting rid of the bright shiny object syndrome.

In the early days of his business career, he experienced chaos because he kept switching his focus and marketing message. This haphazard approach was draining.

Focus is the strategic allocation of resources towards things of greatest value.

Now Dave helps other business owners maintain focus on what really matters in the business. He’s been “shiny object syndrome sober” for a handful of years now.

The big ah-ha that helped Dave take his business off the charts was to expose his weaknesses and challenges with ADHA and he’s found that by opening up more people are supportive. That has led to more success.

The part that people enjoy the most about his course is when he shares his own story, which shows the way that other people can also focus and get the results they want, too.
