#130 Tech Checklist For A Successful Launch

In today’s episode, we’re going to talk about the technical side of creating an e-course, and what it really takes for a successful launch.

Since figuring out payments, marketing, and how to deliver the e-course can be tricky, I’m sharing with you 7 of the tips I’ve learned that can really help.

Tips That Will Help

You know, as long as your course delivers what it promises, there’s really no need to spend a ton on the tech side of things. At least, not right away.

Eventually, of course, investing in the right software can bring about a great return on investment, just don’t take that plunge until you’re past the “new” and “financially uncertain” stage!

And although hiring a virtual assistant can be great, you should know enough about how the tools work to be able to take over in case of emergency.  After all, even the best assistant might have to back out … right in the middle of your launch!

Site Membership Plugin Advice

In this episode, I also talk about finding the best membership site plugin for you to use.  Essentially, the important thing is to make sure that it integrates with the software you use to run your business, and that it will allow you to upgrade as your business grows.

Our software products, AccessAlly & PopupAlly, are all about design and user experience. But you can find other plugins that are more bare bones and still get the job done.

Speaking of user experience, remember that it communicates to people what you stand for. Keep it consistently high quality before, during, and after the course experience.

To help users to finish the courses that they start, you can use gamification and progress tracking tools (found in our ProgressAlly plugin) to help users to stay engaged and get the results you promised.

Be Prepared for the Unexpected

Even if you test everything many times over, there will always be a snafu. My best advice: be prepared to handle the tangle when it comes your way

That having been said, don’t wait till the last minute to figure out the tech stuff! Prepare ahead of time to find out the systems play nice together. Then you can really focus on being present during the time of your launch, instead of spending hours on the phone with tech support!
