A Manifesto About Momentum
Recognizing the forces at play in our lives, so we can work with them and not against them.

It’s because we moved to a new email platform called Substack, and you can read more about my decision here.

Momentum is a powerful force.
Momentum can move us toward what we want, or away from it.
Building momentum is not a solo activity. We need each other to gain momentum.
We can get caught up in the momentum of those around us, for better or worse.
Everyone is creative.
Our creativity is innate and can be nurtured, like a dormant seed that we bring to the surface of the soil and water.
Writing is thinking.
We could all benefit from more people thinking deeply.
Writing is feeling.
We could all benefit from more people who recognize their feelings.
Creative solutions abound if we're willing to try them.
Using our creativity in service of the things that matter most to us gives us momentum.
Ideas have a shelf life, use them before they expire.
Humans are part of nature, not separate from it.
We can have positive effects on our ecosystem and the planet.
By re-engaging with the soil beneath our feet right where we live.
Soil is life.
Life is unpredictable, messy, and beautiful. Just like soil.
There is no disconnect between us and the water, the trees, the birds, the wind, and the changing seasons.
Business can be a vehicle for change and impact.
Just like humans are a part of nature and not separate from it, we are part of the capitalist system as it stands today.
We can work to shift the system toward a more equitable and sustainable one while doing our best to meet our needs.
Knowing what resources you need to be happy, healthy, and taken care of is key to unhooking from the consumerist culture of "more".
You get to decide what "enough" looks like, in your personal life and your business.
The most radical way of reclaiming your power in the capitalist world is knowing that:
There is enough time and money to do everything that matters.
